Saint Paul College is one of the fastest-growing, most diverse two year public colleges in Minnesota.

The College fosters a culture of inclusiveness, collaboration and alliances with community partners, businesses, industries and universities to provide an extraordinary education for our community. Saint Paul College adds over $163.5 million per year to the Twin Cities’ economy, according to the Wilder Foundation. Over 90% of the College’s graduates are employed locally. This legislative session will be critical in determining the College’s continuing ability to serve the needs of students and employers.

Dr. Rassoul Dastmozd is the president of Saint Paul College—A Community & Technical College, one of the 31 colleges and universities in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. Dr. Dastmozd believes that community colleges are the hidden treasures in our higher education system, and that “community colleges are the most dynamic, affordable, and accessible vehicles in responding to the needs of a changing population. These democratic institutions hold the promise of a better life through affordable education and self-empowerment. They hold the key to the jobs students have always wanted to do and the life they have always wanted to live.”

Beginning with his initial experience as a community college student and through his continuing professional experience as an educator, mentor and administrator in community colleges, Dr. Dastmozd has become a tireless champion of community colleges. With an unwavering focus on student success and promoting diversity, Dr. Dastmozd believes that today’s college must “encourage a collective vision, promote collaboration and develop sustainable partnerships. Together, we must explore new ways to secure resources, develop programs, and champion the Learning College mission, values, vision, and goals.”
