Lunch Meeting February 10: Q&A with Saint Paul Police Chief Axel Henry

Please join us at the InterContinental Hotel on February 10th at noon as we hear from Saint Paul Police Chief, Axel Henry.

 

Chief Axel C. Henry grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota and is a proud graduate of Central High School. At the age of 16, Chief Henry started working for Saint Paul Parks and Recreation at Municipal Stadium (later called Midway Stadium). After high school, he attended the University of St. Thomas where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting.

 

Chief Henry began his law enforcement career with the Roseville Police Department in 1995 and transferred to the Saint Paul Police Department three years later. In his 24 years of service in Saint Paul, he has served as: Patrol officer; Sergeant; Commander of the Central District, Narcotics, Financial Intelligence, Human Trafficking, Family and Sexual Violence units; Executive Officer to the Chief of Police; and Senior Commander of the Eastern District.

 

Chief Henry spearheaded the City of Saint Paul’s bodyworn camera program, designed and led the Domestic Violence Blueprint for Safety Program, and has more than 20 years of experience as a trainer and use of force expert.

 

Chief Henry holds a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from the University of St. Thomas. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the Command College at FBI Quantico and University of Virginia Master’s Program, and the Wilder Foundation’s James P. Shannon Leadership Institute.

 

Chief Henry is passionate about collaborating with community and city leaders to solve problems and address violent crime, empowering neighborhoods to co-produce safety, and diversifying and developing the police department at all ranks.
