Join us at the University Club on September 3rd as we hear from Michael Kluznik about his history in Saint Paul.
There are many communities within the larger community, and each carry history, personalities, and some misconceptions. Come learn from a lifelong resident of St Paul, and nearby municipalities, who will share a deeply personal story of living in the West Side Flats, McDonough Homes (a federal housing project), along with the North End, East Side, Summit University, Frog Town, and Crocus Hill. See how they all tie together through the lens of family history and the memoir of three siblings.
Mike Kluznik and his family spent years living below the poverty line in a household headed by a single woman. His mother became a widow at 34 with four children 10 and under. She worked in various jobs to support the family and have all four children graduate from college and earn 5 graduate degrees among them.
