Please join us at the Pool and Yacht Club on October 21st at 5:01 pm as we hear from Russell Luepker.

Sudden cardiac death is one of the most common of mortal events.  A study at the University of Minnesota finds some interesting insight on underlying causes.  These provide opportunities for treatment and prevention.

He also obtained a Masters degree in epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health. Beginning with the Multiple Risk Factor Intervention and Lipid Research Clinic Trials he has consistently worked in the field of cardiovascular disease surveillance and prevention. He is also interested in disease surveillance as director of the Minnesota Heart Survey. Group randomized trials are also an important part of his research such as the NIH supported Minnesota Heart Health Program, CATCH, REACT and ‘Ask about Aspirin’ Study.
