Frank Bures is a writer whose work has appeared in Harper’s, The Atlantic, Outside, and other publications. He was a long-time contributor to Rotary Magazine. He is the author of Pushing the River: An Epic Battle, a Lost History, a Near Death, and Other True Canoeing Stories and The Shape of the World: Essays on Travel, Culture and Belief from Rotary Magazine, a collection of more than a decade of his "Culture" columns. His work has been included or selected as “Notable” in the Best American Travel Writing, Best American Essays and Best American Sports Writing nineteen times. He lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with is wife and two daughters.
