Please join us at the Pool & Yacht Club on March 17th as we hear from Dustin Vanasse, Founder and CEO of Bare Honey LLC and Executive Director of the Pollinator Friendly Alliance.

Pollinators play an essential role in food systems and biodiversity, and Minnesota has been a leader in protecting pollinators and their habitat.  But did you know that the efforts involve collaboration between farmers, renewable energy companies, local governments, and businesses?  Pollinator-friendly habitats not only support broader wildlife conservation but also strengthen ecosystems and benefit both people and wildlife.  Come learn more about the science-based initiatives to ensure healthy habitats for all species, as well as practical ways you can support pollinator health, habitat restoration, and biodiversity preservation.

Dustin Vanasse, Executive Director of Pollinator Friendly Alliance, is best known as the Founder of Bare Honey, a Minnesota brand that connects consumers to conservation—most notably through solar-based beekeeping, which integrates native plantings and apiaries into pollinator-friendly solar projects.  A former chef turned food entrepreneur, Dustin built his culinary career around menus that highlighted small-scale, sustainable agriculture—working directly with farmers and producers to feature seasonal, locally grown ingredients. His approach helped diners connect the food on their plates to the landscapes where it was grown, building awareness of how sustainable agriculture supports both communities and ecosystems.  In addition to leading a mission-driven company, Dustin has served in public-sector and nonprofit spheres as an Agricultural Marketing Specialist with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. Dustin’s conservation work has appeared in features and media—ranging from profiles of pollinator-friendly solar sites and solar-grown honey to podcast interviews about building values-driven food brands.
